Yellow error warnings on the Manage Claims page are additional claim validation checks that identify potential coding or billing issues.
Unlike errors that prevent a claim from being transmitted, yellow warnings do not automatically stop the claim from being submitted. They are intended to alert you to issues that may need to be reviewed before the claim is sent.
Yellow warnings may identify:
- National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) edits, including procedure combinations that may not normally be billed together.
- Situations where a modifier may be required.
- Units that exceed Medically Unlikely Edit (MUE) limits.
- Other common coding or billing issues that could potentially result in a payer rejection or denial.

How Do I Review a Yellow Warning?
Click the claim on the Manage Claims page to open the View/Edit Claim page. The warning details and explanations are displayed near the bottom of the page and can help you determine whether the claim needs to be corrected.

Do Yellow Warnings Prevent a Claim From Being Submitted?
No. A claim can still be submitted when yellow warnings are present.
If you review the warnings and determine that the claim should be submitted as entered, click Save Claim at the top of the screen. When the warning is displayed again, click Save Claim a second time.
Clicking Save Claim a second time confirms that you want to proceed despite the warnings and sends the claim for processing.
Note: Clicking Save Claim a second time does not correct or remove the yellow warnings. It confirms that you want to submit the claim with the warnings still present.
