# How to Set Up Phone-Based QR Login

This article explains how to register your phone for high-security two-factor authentication (2FA) using a QR code. After setup, you’ll sign in by scanning a QR code with your phone—no text messages or emails required.

### What does this setup do?

It links your phone to your Claim.MD account as a secure authentication key. After registration, you can log in by scanning a QR code with your phone when prompted.

### Do I need texts or emails for this?

No. This method does **not** rely on SMS or email. Your phone scan completes the authentication.

### How do I set it up?

You’ll register a new authentication key from **My Settings**. Claim.MD will display a QR code. You’ll scan it with your phone’s camera and follow the prompts on your phone. Then you’ll name the key, confirm with your Claim.MD password, and complete registration.

#### Step-by-step

1. Sign in to Claim.MD.

6. 7. Back on Claim.MD, enter a **Name** for the key (example: `Claim.MD Phone QR`).
8. In the **Password** field, enter your regular **Claim.MD password**.

## Troubleshooting

**I don’t see the QR code after clicking Register New Key.** Make sure pop-ups are not blocked by your browser. Try again.

**My phone doesn’t recognize the QR code.** Increase your screen brightness and hold your phone steady. Move slightly closer or farther away until it focuses.

**I didn’t receive a “Success” message.** Confirm you entered:

- A value in the **Name** field
- Your correct Claim.MD password
- Then click **Complete Key Registration** again.
