# How does the required Two-Factor Authentication work?

## Two-Factor Authentication Required

To enhance the security of your account, two-factor authentication (2FA) is now required for all logins.

If you haven't yet selected a preferred 2FA method, you will be prompted to choose either an email address or phone number to receive your verification code at login. To streamline future logins, we recommend selecting your preferred two-factor option in the [Settings](https://docs.claim.md/docs/my-settings#multi-authentication-2fa-mfa) menu.

For the fastest and most secure experience, we strongly recommend using a hardware security key (FIDO key) or setting up your phone as a FIDO key.
